We were so happy when Stanislas Giroux, a French young medical resident shared with us his beautiful video of Iran: “Curves of Iran”. Here are his words, back from his inspiring travel:
“I knew i would be surprised to discover Iran, but no so much, from what i heard in Western clichés and the reality, there is such a big gap. I had the chance to meet traditional iranian families but also the famous “Rich kids of Tehran”, what gave me a wide panel of different points of view: Iranian people are so generous and caring, humble, open minded and cheerful, and no matter if we were not speaking the same language. Every single day i spent in Iran was rising: Colors, architecture, perfumes are beyond words. I tried to express my feelings, as much as possible in this video. During my trips, i learnt to be highly responsive to immortalize an ephemeral moment and to do portraits of people very subtly. In order to capture my feelings the best way, i chose to travel alone, that’s the best way to me to make links, think the right way when you have issues, to communicate, to learn the langage… After a few weeks, i realize that Iranian people are just as free as westerners. It’s just a different freedom, most often behind walls, but with a better taste than our vision of freedom. It is such a great pleasure to realize how colorful is Iran, far from the dark stereotypes. Traveling to Iran is a trip we would love to never stop!”.
But the best you could do, is still to watch the video, get inspired and remember this:
” The West was built on angles, the East was built on curves”
