The lovely Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Iranian designer and retailer in New York is certainly one of our favorite people in fashion and it’s been a while we’re following here. Her amazing eponymous boutique in the Lower East Side in New York is just a beautiful travel for the mind. She puts together edgy fashion, music, art to create an inspiring lifestyle. Much more than just “clothes”, Maryam Nassir Zadeh offers, each season her own poetic vision of fashion where many stories involve people, clothes, colors and spirit.
At MNZ store, you could find some of the best designers like ACNE, Barbara Casasola, JW Anderson, Jacquemus, Rochas, and that’s only a few among many. All are presented like a creative piece of art.
When we think about her work and taste, we are almost sure that her Persian roots are influencing her strong and sensual world. In an interview to The Vogue US, she talked about her grand-mother fashion store in Iran: “The store my grandmother owned was very avant-garde. Nobody was importing from Italy or France like she was in the 70’s”. Fashion seems to be a family affair for them. For those who are familiar to the Iranian aesthetics, the “Persian touch” is subtly existing at Maryam Nassir Zadeh.
